Additional industrial heating boilers at chemical company
Location: Mechelen - Antwerp
A major consumer products manufacturer has asked to downsize its existing boiler room, which currently contains one large boiler. The capacity of the current boiler appears to be too large for current production needs, resulting in excessive starting and stopping. This leads not only to inefficiency, but also to increased wear and tear on the equipment. A solution is needed to better match thermal production to actual demand.
After a thorough analysis by BBC, the proposal was made to install two new, smaller boilers, each with a capacity of 1000 kW, to cover the full heat demand. In addition, a cascading control system is recommended between the two boilers so that heating capacity can be optimally matched to varying demand. This control allows the boilers to run alternately or jointly depending on the current heat demand. This improves energy efficiency, increases reliability and extends the life of the installation.
